(a) Any party may participate in the hearing in person or, if the party is a corporation or other artificial person, by a duly authorized representative.

Terms Used In Tennessee Code 4-5-305

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Party: means each person or agency named or admitted as a party, or properly seeking and entitled as of right to be admitted as a party. See Tennessee Code 4-5-102
  • Person: means any individual, partnership, corporation, association, governmental subdivision, or public or private organization of any character, including another agency. See Tennessee Code 4-5-102
  • Representative: when applied to those who represent a decedent, includes executors and administrators, unless the context implies heirs and distributees. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
(b) Whether or not participating in person, any party may be advised and represented at the party’s own expense by counsel or, unless prohibited by law, other representative.
