(a) Any disability retiree who has not attained service retirement age may be required to submit current medical records annually until attaining service retirement age, by a physician or physicians designated by the board of trustees.

  • Beneficiary: A person who is entitled to receive the benefits or proceeds of a will, trust, insurance policy, retirement plan, annuity, or other contract. Source: OCC

  • Service: means service as a general employee, a teacher, a state police officer, a wildlife officer, a firefighter, a police officer, a state judge, a county judge, an attorney general, a commissioner or a county official which is paid for by an employer, and also includes service for which a former member of the general assembly is entitled to under former §.   • Year: means a calendar year, unless otherwise expressed. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
(b) Should any disability beneficiary who has not yet attained sixty (60) years of age refuse to submit to at least one (1) medical examination in any such year, and should such refusal continue for ninety (90) days after the records have been requested, such beneficiary‘s monthly retirement benefit may be suspended by the board of trustees.
