26B-7-208. Tuberculosis — Duty of department to investigate, control, and monitor.

The department shall conduct or oversee the investigation, control, and monitoring of suspected or confirmed tuberculosis infection and disease within the state. Local health departments shall investigate, control, and monitor suspected or confirmed tuberculosis infection and disease within their respective jurisdictions. |

- Infection: means the entry and development or multiplication of an infectious agent in the body of man or animals. See Utah Code 26B-7-201
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5

A health care provider who treats an individual with suspected or confirmed tuberculosis shall treat the individual according to guidelines established by the department. |
