- Agency: means :
(a) a person other than an individual, including a sole proprietorship by which an individual does business under an assumed name; and (b) an insurance organization licensed or required to be licensed under Section 31A-23a-301, 31A-25-207, or 31A-26-209. See Utah Code 31A-1-301 Section 31A-5-417 applies to exclusive management and exclusive agency contracts in corporations organized and operating under this chapter, except that in this chapter, Subsection 31A-5-417(2) does not preclude exclusive agency contracts with controlled subsidiaries of the insurer organized and operating under this chapter.Enacted by Chapter 242, 1985 General Session
