4-38-201. Licenses — Fees — Duties of licensees.

The commission may grant, or contract under Subsection 4-38-104(4) for the granting of a license, for participation in racing and other activities associated with a racetrack. |
Terms Used In Utah Code 4-38-201
- Commission: means the Utah Horse Racing Commission created by this chapter. See Utah Code 4-38-102
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Person: means a natural person or individual, corporation, organization, or other legal entity. See Utah Code 4-1-109
- Race meet: means the entire period of time for which a licensee has been approved to hold horse races. See Utah Code 4-38-102
- Recognized race meet: means a race meet recognized by a national horse breed association. See Utah Code 4-38-102

The commission shall establish a schedule of fees for the application for and renewal and reinstatement of licenses issued under this chapter. |

A person holding a license under this chapter shall comply with this chapter and with the rules issued and the orders issued by the commission under this chapter. |

A person who holds a recognized race meet or who participates directly or indirectly in a recognized race meet without being first licensed as required under this chapter and any person violating this chapter is subject to penalties under Section 4-2-304. |
