78A-2-602. Court Security Account — Creation — Funding — Uses.

There is created a restricted account in the General Fund known as the “Court Security Account.” |

- Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5

The state treasurer shall deposit in the Court Security Account money from:
(a) |
the surcharge established in Section 78A-2-601; |

(3) |
The Court Security Account consists of money:
(a) |
deposited by the state treasurer under Subsection (2); and |
(b) |
appropriated by the Legislature. |

(4) |
Subject to appropriation, the Administrative Office of the Courts shall use the allocation to contract for court security at all district and juvenile courts throughout the state. |
