(1) The commission shall:

- Act: means the National Community and Service Trust Act of 1993, Utah Code 9-20-102
- Commission: means the Utah Commission on Service and Volunteerism created in Section 9-20-201. See Utah Code 9-20-102
- Oversight: Committee review of the activities of a Federal agency or program.
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(1)(a) administer the selection, development, and oversight of programs funded and established by the act;
(1)(b) pursue opportunities for sustainable and high-impact community service;
(1)(c) develop and annually update a three-year state service plan, including the establishment of state priorities;
(1)(d) provide policy guidance to the One Utah Service Fellowship Program described in Section 9-20-301 ; and
(1)(e) stimulate increased community awareness of the impact of volunteer service in the state.

(2)(a) The commission may, subject to Title 63J, Chapter 5, Federal Funds Procedures Act, receive and accept federal funds, and may receive and accept private gifts, donations, or funds from any source.
(2)(b) Money received under this Subsection (2) shall be deposited with the state and shall be available to the commission to carry out the purposes of this part.
