- Accounting reports: means an audit, a review, a compilation, or a fiscal report. See Utah Code 51-2a-102
- Audit: means an examination that:
(a) is performed in accordance with generally accepted government auditing standards, or for a nonprofit corporation or a governmental nonprofit corporation, in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards; and (b) conforms to the uniform classification of accounts established or approved by the state auditor or any other classification of accounts established by any federal government agency. See Utah Code 51-2a-102 - Board: means the Waste Management and Radiation Control Board, as defined in Section 19-1-106, within the Department of Environmental Quality. See Utah Code 19-6-902
- Certified decontamination specialist: means an individual who has met the standards for certification as a decontamination specialist and has been certified by the board under Subsection 19-6-906(2). See Utah Code 19-6-902
- Compilation: means information presented in the form of financial statements presented in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles that are the representation of management without the accountant undertaking to express any assurances on the statements. See Utah Code 51-2a-102
- Complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant.
- contamination: means :
(a) polluted by hazardous materials that cause property to be unfit for human habitation or use due to immediate or long-term health hazards; or (b) that a property is polluted by hazardous materials as a result of the use, production, or presence of methamphetamine in excess of decontamination standards adopted by the Department of Health and Human Services under Section 26B-7-409. See Utah Code 19-6-902 - Contamination list: means a list maintained by the local health department of properties:
(a) reported to the local health department under Section 19-6-903; and (b) determined by the local health department to be contaminated. See Utah Code 19-6-902 - Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Decontaminated: means property that at one time was contaminated, but the contaminants have been removed. See Utah Code 19-6-902
- Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Fiscal report: means providing information detailing revenues and expenditures of all funds in a format prescribed by the state auditor. See Utah Code 51-2a-102
- Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
- Governing board: means :
(a) the governing board of each political subdivision; (b) the governing board of each interlocal organization having the power to tax or to expend public funds; (c) the governing board of any local mental health authority established under the authority of Title 26B, Chapter 5, Health Care - Substance Use and Mental Health; (d) the governing board of any substance abuse authority established under the authority of Title 26B, Chapter 5, Health Care - Substance Use and Mental Health; (e) the governing board of any area agency established under the authority of 1; (f) the board of directors of any nonprofit corporation that receives an amount of money requiring an accounting report under Section 51-2a-201. See Utah Code 51-2a-102 - Governmental nonprofit corporation: means the same as that term is defined in Section 11-13a-102. See Utah Code 51-2a-102
- Health department: means a local health department under Title 26A, Local Health Authorities. See Utah Code 19-6-902
- Local health department: means a local health department as defined in 1. See Utah Code 19-1-103
- Person: means an individual, trust, firm, estate, company, corporation, partnership, association, state, state or federal agency or entity, municipality, commission, or political subdivision of a state. See Utah Code 19-1-103
- Process: means a writ or summons issued in the course of a judicial proceeding. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- Property: includes both real and personal property. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5

- Real property: Land, and all immovable fixtures erected on, growing on, or affixed to the land.
- Reported property: means property that is the subject of a law enforcement report under Section 19-6-903. See Utah Code 19-6-902
- Review: means performing inquiry and analytical procedures that provide the accountant with a reasonable basis for expressing limited assurance that there are no material modifications that should be made to the financial statements for them to be in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles. See Utah Code 51-2a-102
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
