Terms Used In Vermont Statutes Title 13 Sec. 2823

  • Child: means any person under 16 years of age. See
  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
  • Performance: means :

  • Person: shall include any natural person, corporation, municipality, the State of Vermont or any department, agency, or subdivision of the State, and any partnership, unincorporated association, or other legal entity. See
  • Sexual performance: means any performance or any part of a performance that includes sexual conduct by, with, or on a child. See

§ 2823. Consenting to a sexual performance

No person who is the parent, legal guardian, or custodian of a child may, with knowledge of the character and content, consent to the participation of that child in a sexual performance or a performance including a lewd exhibition of the genitals by that child.
