Terms Used In Vermont Statutes Title 18 Sec. 109

  • Health officer: means Commissioner of Health, the Commissioner's designee, or a local or district health officer. See
  • Local board of health: means the local health officer, with the selectboard of the town or city council of a city. See
  • Village: shall mean an incorporated village. See

§ 109. The Commissioner exercising powers of local board of health or health officer

The Commissioner, in the Commissioner’s discretion, may exercise all the powers and authority, in each town and village, that is given to a local health officer or board of health. (Amended 1959, No. 329 (Adj. Sess.), § 27, eff. March 1, 1961; 2023, No. 53, § 27, eff. June 8, 2023.)
