No deed purporting to convey real estate to a park authority shall be recorded unless accepted by a person authorized to act on behalf of the park authority, which acceptance shall appear on the face thereof.

Terms Used In Virginia Code 15.2-5707

  • Authority: means an authority created under the provisions of § Virginia Code 15.2-5701
  • Deed: The legal instrument used to transfer title in real property from one person to another.
  • Park: means public parks and recreation areas as the terms are generally used. See Virginia Code 15.2-5701
  • Person: includes any individual, corporation, partnership, association, cooperative, limited liability company, trust, joint venture, government, political subdivision, or any other legal or commercial entity and any successor, representative, agent, agency, or instrumentality thereof. See Virginia Code 1-230
  • real estate: includes lands, tenements and hereditaments, and all rights and appurtenances thereto and interests therein, other than a chattel interest. See Virginia Code 1-219
