§ 21-427.1 City public facilities district law

  • Affirmed: In the practice of the appellate courts, the decree or order is declared valid and will stand as rendered in the lower court.
  • Air pollution: means the presence in the outdoor atmosphere of one or more substances which are or may be harmful or injurious to human health, welfare or safety, to animal or plant life, or to property, or which unreasonably interfere with the enjoyment by the people of life or property.   • Appellate: About appeals; an appellate court has the power to review the judgement of another lower court or tribunal.
  • Board: means the State Air Pollution Control Board. See Virginia Code 10.1-1300
  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
  • Department: means the Department of Environmental Quality. See Virginia Code 10.1-1300
  • Executive Director: means the Executive Director of the Department of Environmental Quality. See Virginia Code 10.1-1300
  • Person: shall include individuals, a trust, an estate, a partnership, an association, an order, a corporation, or any other legal or commercial entity;
