  • Chesapeake Bay cropland: means cropland in the Commonwealth located in the Chesapeake Bay watershed on which fertilizer, manure, sewage sludge, or another compound containing nitrogen or phosphorous is applied. See Virginia Code 62.1-44.120
  • Department: means the Department of Conservation and Recreation. See Virginia Code 62.1-44.120
  • Freedom of Information Act: A federal law that mandates that all the records created and kept by federal agencies in the executive branch of government must be open for public inspection and copying. The only exceptions are those records that fall into one of nine exempted categories listed in the statute. Source: OCC
  • Nutrient management plan: means a plan prepared by a certified nutrient management planner pursuant to § 10. See Virginia Code 62.1-44.120
  • Operator: means any person who exercises managerial control over Chesapeake Bay cropland. See Virginia Code 62.1-44.120
  • Person: includes any individual, corporation, partnership, association, cooperative, limited liability company, trust, joint venture, government, political subdivision, or any other legal or commercial entity and any successor, representative, agent, agency, or instrumentality thereof. See Virginia Code 1-230
