It is unlawful to use fuse for blasting on any area of logging slash or area of actual logging operation without a permit during the closed season. Upon the issuance of a written permit by the department or warden or ranger, fuse may be used during the closed season under the conditions specified in the permit.

Terms Used In Washington Code 76.04.246
- Closed season: means the period between April 15th and October 15th, unless the department designates different dates because of prevailing fire weather conditions. See Washington Code 76.04.005
- Department: means the department of natural resources, or its authorized representatives, as defined in chapter 43. See Washington Code 76.04.005
- Slash: means organic forest debris such as tree tops, limbs, brush, and other dead flammable material remaining on forestland as a result of a landowner operation. See Washington Code 76.04.005
