Terms Used In Wisconsin Statutes 180.1704

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • State: when applied to states of the United States, includes the District of Columbia, the commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the several territories organized by Congress. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01

Except as provided in s. 180.1708, this chapter applies to all foreign corporations transacting business in this state on or after January 1, 1991. The enactment of this chapter does not require a foreign corporation authorized to transact business in this state on January 1, 1991, to obtain a new certificate of authority under subch. XV.
