  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.

No railroad corporation shall make application for a certificate unless it has caused a copy of its corporate articles to be published as a class 2 notice, under ch. 985, in each county in which the railroad is proposed to be located within 6 months next prior to the time of making such application, and files satisfactory proof thereof with the office.
