Terms Used In Wisconsin Statutes 54.878

  • Adult: means a person who has attained the age of 18 years, except that for purposes of investigating or prosecuting a person who is alleged to have violated any state or federal criminal law or any civil law or municipal ordinance, "adult" means a person who has attained the age of 17 years.   • Property: includes real and personal property. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01
   (1)    A custodian, acting in a custodial capacity, has all the rights, powers and authority over custodial property that unmarried adult owners have over their own property, but a custodian may exercise those rights, powers and authority in that capacity only.
   (2)   This section does not relieve a custodian from liability for breach of s. 54.876.
