Terms Used In Wisconsin Statutes 843.17

  • Clerk of court: An officer appointed by the court to work with the chief judge in overseeing the court's administration, especially to assist in managing the flow of cases through the court and to maintain court records.
  • Person: includes all partnerships, associations and bodies politic or corporate. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01
  • Writ: A formal written command, issued from the court, requiring the performance of a specific act.

If a judgment is for the immediate possession of real property or for possession on a specified date, the person in whose favor the judgment runs may have a writ of assistance upon application to the clerk of court.
