Terms Used In Wisconsin Statutes 96.19

  • Common law: The legal system that originated in England and is now in use in the United States. It is based on judicial decisions rather than legislative action.
  • Marketing order: means an order issued by the secretary under this chapter. See Wisconsin Statutes 96.01

In any civil or criminal action or proceeding for violation of any rule of statutory or common law against monopolies or combinations in restraint of trade, proof that the act complained of was done in compliance with this chapter or a marketing order or agreement issued under this chapter and in furtherance of the purposes and provisions of this chapter shall be a complete defense to such action or proceeding.
