  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 5. Except as otherwise provided in P.L.1992, c.162 (C. 17B:27A-17 et seq.), no group health insurance policy providing hospital or medical expense benefits shall contain any provision which denies benefits for expenses incurred in the treatment of an injury or injuries sustained as the result of domestic violence as defined in section 3 of P.L.1991, c.261 (C. 2C:25-19), to a named insured or other person covered thereunder. Benefits shall be provided to the same extent as for any other treatment under the policy. The provisions of this section shall apply to all policies in which the insurer has reserved the right to change the premium.
