  • Amortization: Paying off a loan by regular installments.
  • Blood: means human whole blood or components of human blood, including plasma, which are prepared from human whole blood by physical, rather than chemical processes, but does not include blood derivatives manufactured or processed for industrial use. See California Health and Safety Code 1625
  • Board: means the board of directors of the Santa Clara Valley Water District. See California Public Contract Code 21160.5
  • Consumer: means a natural individual. See California Civil Code 1785.3
  • Consumer credit reporting agency: means any person who, for monetary fees, dues, or on a cooperative nonprofit basis, regularly engages in whole or in part in the business of assembling or evaluating consumer credit information or other information on consumers for the purpose of furnishing consumer credit reports to third parties, but does not include any governmental agency whose records are maintained primarily for traffic safety, law enforcement, or licensing purposes.   • County: includes city and county. See California Health and Safety Code 14
  • Credit report: A detailed report of an individual's credit history prepared by a credit bureau and used by a lender in determining a loan applicant's creditworthiness. Source: OCC

  • Director: means "State Director of Health Services. See California Health and Safety Code 21
  • District: means the Santa Clara Valley Water District. See California Public Contract Code 21160.5
  • Donor: The person who makes a gift.
  • Hemapheresis: means the removal of whole blood from a donor, separation of the blood into components, retention of the desired components, and return of the recombined remaining elements to the donor. See California Health and Safety Code 1625
  • Industrial use: means a use of blood in which the blood is modified by physical or chemical means to produce derivatives for therapeutic or pharmaceutic biologics, laboratory reagents, or in vitro diagnostics. See California Health and Safety Code 1625
  • Paid donor: means a person who donates blood and who receives payment in return for the donation of such blood. See California Health and Safety Code 1625
  • Payment: means the transfer by a blood bank to any person of money or any other valuable consideration which can be converted to money by the recipient, except that payment shall not include any of the following:

  • Transfusion: means a use of blood in which the blood is administered to a human being for treatment of sickness or injury. See California Health and Safety Code 1625
  • Trial: A hearing that takes place when the defendant pleads "not guilty" and witnesses are required to come to court to give evidence.
