A hospital may administer influenza and pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccines to patients, after an assessment for contraindications, without a physician’s order in accordance with a physician-approved hospital policy. The Commissioner of Public Health shall adopt regulations, in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54, to carry out the provisions of this section.
