(a) There is established and created a fund to be known as the “Shellfish Fund”. The proceeds of any bonds authorized for the purpose of § 26-237a and any private, state or federal grants or direct funding received or awarded for the purposes of § 26-237a, shall be deposited in the fund. Any balance remaining in said fund at the end of any fiscal year shall be carried forward in said fund for the fiscal year next succeeding.

  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. (b) The fund shall be used by the Commissioner of Agriculture for the program established under § 26-237a including, but not limited to, the support of an oyster shell recycling program administered by the Department of Agriculture in partnership with any other person.
