The common law and principles of equity supplement sections 45a-500b to 45a-500s, inclusive, except to the extent modified by sections 45a-500b to 45a-500s, inclusive, or law of this state other than this act.
Terms Used In Connecticut General Statutes 45a-500d
- Common law: The legal system that originated in England and is now in use in the United States. It is based on judicial decisions rather than legislative action.
- State: means a state of the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands or any territory or insular possession subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, and includes an Indian tribe or band recognized by federal law or formally acknowledged by a state.
