Terms Used In Hawaii Revised Statutes 414-19

  • Department director: means the director of commerce and consumer affairs, unless the context otherwise requires. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 414-3
  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.

All certificates issued by the department director pursuant to this chapter, and all copies of documents filed in the department director’s office pursuant to this chapter when certified by the department director, shall be taken and received in all courts, public offices, and official bodies as prima facie evidence of the facts therein stated. A certificate by the department director, under the seal of the department of commerce and consumer affairs, as to the existence or nonexistence of the facts relating to corporations, shall be taken and received in all courts, public offices, and official bodies as prima facie evidence of the existence or nonexistence of the facts therein stated.
