Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 215 ILCS 150/4

  • Beneficiary: A person who is entitled to receive the benefits or proceeds of a will, trust, insurance policy, retirement plan, annuity, or other contract. Source: OCC
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Liabilities: The aggregate of all debts and other legal obligations of a particular person or legal entity.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     No corporation or entity shall be a beneficiary of the trust fund unless it either shall be incorporated under the laws of this State or shall have first procured a Certificate of Authority from the Secretary of State, except that a hospital owned and operated by a tax exempt unit of local government and such unit of local government, in relation to and to the extent of its liabilities arising from the ownership or operation of such hospital, may be beneficiaries of the trust fund.
