Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 215 ILCS 5/104

  • Attorney-in-fact: A person who, acting as an agent, is given written authorization by another person to transact business for him (her) out of court.
  • Service of process: The service of writs or summonses to the appropriate party.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     Every policy issued in this State by any domestic, foreign or alien Lloyds shall have printed upon its face and back the name of such Lloyds, the name and address of its attorney-in-fact in this State or agent for service of process in this State, and in type not smaller than ten point the words “Not Incorporated.”
