- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
Notice of amendment or change in by-laws. Subject to the provisions of section 292.1 applicable to fraternal benefit societies, notice of any amendment or change in a company’s by-laws setting forth such amendment or change, certified by its president, secretary, or officer corresponding thereto, shall be delivered to the Director within thirty days after such amendment or change.
