  • Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Judgement: The official decision of a court finally determining the respective rights and claims of the parties to a suit.
  • Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
  • Probation: A sentencing alternative to imprisonment in which the court releases convicted defendants under supervision as long as certain conditions are observed.
     Any person or authorized member of a partnership or corporation who, while licensed as a premium finance company, is convicted of a felony shall report the conviction to the Director within 30 days of the entry date of the judgement. Within that 30 day period, the person shall also provide the Director with a copy of the judgement, the probation or commitment order, and any other relevant document.
