Sec. 1. As used in this chapter:

     “Council” means the advisory council to the office of utility consumer counselor created under section 7 of this chapter.

Terms Used In Indiana Code 8-1-1.1-1

  • commission: refers to the Indiana utility regulatory commission. See Indiana Code 8-1-1-1
  • Council: means the advisory council to the office of utility consumer counselor created under section 7 of this chapter. See Indiana Code 8-1-1.1-1
  • Counselor: means the consumer counselor established under section 2 of this chapter. See Indiana Code 8-1-1.1-1
  • Deputy consumer counselor: means the deputy consumer counselor for Washington affairs that may be established under section 9. See Indiana Code 8-1-1.1-1
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Utility: means any public utility, municipally owned utility or subscriber owned utility under the jurisdiction of the commission. See Indiana Code 8-1-1.1-1
     “Counselor” means the consumer counselor established under section 2 of this chapter.

     “Deputy consumer counselor” means the deputy consumer counselor for Washington affairs that may be established under section 9.1 of this chapter.

     “Utility” means any public utility, municipally owned utility or subscriber owned utility under the jurisdiction of the commission.
