Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 40-1312

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201

Any corporation organized under the provisions of article 13,chapter 40 of the Kansas Statutes Annotated and now transacting business as a mutual indemnity association may continue the transaction of such business: Provided, That, on or before May 1, 1962, every such corporation shall comply fully with the provisions of the insurance code of this state relating to mutual insurance companies other than life as set out in article 12,chapter 40 of the Kansas Statutes Annotated, and acts amendatory thereof or supplemental thereto.
