Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 40-2125

  • Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
  • Board: means the board of directors of the association. See Kansas Statutes 40-2118
  • Commissioner: means the commissioner of insurance. See Kansas Statutes 40-2118
  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • Health insurance: means any hospital or medical expense policy, health, hospital or medical service corporation contract, and a plan provided by a municipal group-funded pool, or a health maintenance organization contract offered by an employer or any certificate issued under any such policies, contracts or plans. See Kansas Statutes 40-2118
  • Plan: means the Kansas uninsurable health insurance plan created pursuant to this act. See Kansas Statutes 40-2118

Upon request of the commissioner to provide for amounts that may be required to assist in financing the commencement of operations of the plan, the pooled money investment board shall loan to the uninsurable health insurance plan fund not to exceed $500,000 on July 15, 1992, July 15, 1993, July 15, 1994, and July 15, 1995. The total of the amounts so loaned shall be repaid from the uninsurable health insurance plan fund over the period of 10 fiscal years after fiscal year 1994 in accordance with appropriation acts. Amounts loaned under this section shall not bear interest.
