  • Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
  • Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201

The division of health care finance of the department of health and environment shall investigate and pursue all possible policy options to bring into this partnership title XIX and the title XXI eligible families of any eligible employees employed by a small employer. The division of health care finance of the department of health and environment shall develop and seek federal approval of any appropriate variance or state plan amendment for the state children’s health insurance program established by Kan. Stat. Ann. § 38-2001 et seq., and amendments thereto, and the state medical assistance program required to accomplish the purposes of this act. The division of health care finance of the department of health and environment shall work with the health partnership to develop a single employee application that may be used by the health plan and the medicaid and state children’s health insurance program to determine eligibility.
