Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 74-629

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201

The state corporation commission is authorized to organize the office of the state corporation commission as it deems most efficient, so long as the same is not in conflict with law. Division directors, and other directors specified in subsection (b) of Kan. Stat. Ann. § 74-630, the general counsel and the executive director shall perform such duties and exercise powers as are delegated by the state corporation commission and such duties and powers as are prescribed by law.
