Where the fire department is a joint department, the fire-fighting apparatus purchased by the township shall be housed and operated the same as fire-fighting apparatus purchased by the city. Where the township has a contract with a city, the fire-fighting apparatus shall be housed by the city and operated by the city fire department and said fire-fighting apparatus may be used within the city or the township the same as the fire-fighting apparatus owned by the city or beyond the territorial limits of the city or township as authorized by Kan. Stat. Ann. § 12-111.
