Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 12:427

  • Cooperative: means a corporation organized under this Part and a corporation which becomes subject to this Part in the manner hereinafter provided. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 12:402
  • Deed: The legal instrument used to transfer title in real property from one person to another.
  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • Mortgage: The written agreement pledging property to a creditor as collateral for a loan.

The provisions of Part X of Chapter 2 of Title 51 shall not apply to any note, bond or other evidence of indebtedness issued by any cooperative pursuant to this Part to the United States of America or any agency or instrumentality thereof, or to any bank, insurance company, or other lending institution, or to any mortgage or deed of trust executed to secure the same.  The provisions of said Part shall not apply to the issuance of membership certificates by any cooperative.
