Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 24:32
- Presiding officer: A majority-party Senator who presides over the Senate and is charged with maintaining order and decorum, recognizing Members to speak, and interpreting the Senate's rules, practices and precedents.
Any member of the Senate or House of Representatives wishing to resign shall direct his letter of resignation to the presiding officer of the house of the legislature of which he is a member.
