Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 29:289

  • Beneficiary: A person who is entitled to receive the benefits or proceeds of a will, trust, insurance policy, retirement plan, annuity, or other contract. Source: OCC

The department of veterans affairs may expend from any funds available for that purpose whatever sums are necessary for the subsistence, maintenance, or other necessary expenses of beneficiaries under La. Rev. Stat. 29:288 during the period of their college or university training.  The expenditures shall not exceed five hundred dollars per year for each beneficiary nor shall they be available to him for any period of more than four years to be completed in not more than five years.
