Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 40:700.10

  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • person: includes a body of persons, whether incorporated or not. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 1:10

            A. Whoever violates any provision of this Subpart shall be fined, for the first offense, not more than five hundred dollars or imprisoned for not more than six months, or both.

            B. For the second or subsequent offense, he shall be fined not more than one thousand dollars or imprisoned for not more than one year, or both.

            C. But any person who violates the provisions of La. Rev. Stat. 40:700.2(C) shall only be fined not more than one thousand dollars for each violation if the violation does not involve gross deception or imminent danger to health, and is established by opinion evidence only.
