Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 40:972

  • Control: means to add a drug or other substance, or immediate precursor, to a schedule under La. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 40:961
  • Drug: means :

                (a) Articles recognized in the official United States Pharmacopoeia, official Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States, or official National Formulary, or any supplement to any of them. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 40:961

  • Manufacture: means the production, preparation, propagation, compounding, or processing of a controlled dangerous substance, either directly or indirectly by extraction from substances of natural origin, or independently by means of chemical synthesis, or by a combination of extraction and chemical synthesis. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 40:961
  • State: means the state of Louisiana. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 40:961

            A. The Louisiana Board of Pharmacy is authorized to promulgate rules and regulations relating to the registration and control of the manufacture, distribution, and dispensing of controlled dangerous substances within this state.

            B. The fees collected by the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy for registration and licensing shall not exceed the following schedule:

            (3)    Emergency medical centers                                                    $    50.00

            (4)    Hospital                                                                                  $    50.00

            (5)    Methadone clinic                                                                    $    50.00

            (6)    Wholesaler/Distributor                                                           $    50.00

            (7)    Third-party logistics provider                                                $    50.00

            (8)    Practitioner                                                                             $    20.00

            (9)    Intern/Resident                                                                       $    20.00

            (10) Drug Detection/Canine                                                           $    30.00

            (11) Researcher                                                                              $    30.00

            (12) Sales representative (or medical service representative

                     or detail person)                                                                     $    20.00

            (13) Other (schools, laboratories, crime laboratories, coroners,

                     ambulance services, analytical laboratories, etc.)                  $    20.00

            (14) Duplicate/Replacement fee                                                     $      5.00

            (15) Delinquent fee

                     (30 days after expiration/assessed per year)                           $    10.00

            C. All said fees collected in accordance with the provisions of this Chapter shall be deposited in a separate fund and used for the administration and enforcement of this Part, and for education and research as provided by La. Rev. Stat. 40:992, together with any supplemental funds appropriated by the legislature or federal funds or grants received.
