Terms Used In Missouri Laws 34.150

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • department: as used in this chapter shall be deemed to mean department, office, board, commission, bureau, institution, or any other agency of the state, except the legislative and judicial departments. See Missouri Laws 34.010
  • purchase: as used in this chapter shall include the rental or leasing of any equipment, articles or things. See Missouri Laws 34.010
  • State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020

Whenever any department or agency of the state government shall purchase or contract for any supplies, materials, equipment or contractual services contrary to the provisions of this chapter or the rules and regulations made thereunder, such order or contract shall be void and of no effect. The head of such department or agency shall be personally liable for the costs of any order or contract the head of such department or agency knowingly authorized in violation of this chapter and, if already paid for out of state funds, the amount thereof may be recovered in the name of the state in an appropriate action instituted therefor.
