  • Remainder: An interest in property that takes effect in the future at a specified time or after the occurrence of some event, such as the death of a life tenant.
If any one or more of the provisions of this chapter is declared unconstitutional or the application thereof is held invalid, the validity of the remainder of the chapter and the application of such provision or provisions to other persons and circumstances shall not be affected thereby.
