§ 433. Other state funding sources. 1. Prior to purchasing day services pursuant to section four hundred thirty, a social services official shall inquire of the department, and the department shall inform him, as to the available funding sources, if any, of which the day services facility was advised pursuant to subdivision two of section four hundred thirty-one. The social services official shall not purchase services from the day services facility until he has determined that the facility has cooperated with the department in efforts to obtain funding from all available sources.

  • day services: shall mean care and treatment for part of the day of one or more children under eighteen years of age and their families in a program which provides to such children and families in accordance with their needs various services such as psychiatric, psychological, social casework, educational, vocational, health, transportation and such other services as may be appropriate. 2. No state agency or official with authority, pursuant to this or any other law, to provide financial assistance for care, treatment or services which may be included in a day services program shall deny or reduce such assistance on the ground that such assistance is available under this title.
