Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 58-10-365

  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. No applicant business entity or captive insurance company shall adopt a name that is the same, deceptively similar, or likely to be confused with or mistaken for any other existing business name registered in this State nor any name likely to mislead the public. Any name adopted by an applicant business entity or a captive insurance company shall comply with the requirements of State law. (2013-116, s. 1; 2014-65, s. 4.)
