- Arrest: Taking physical custody of a person by lawful authority.
When an arrest is made by a deputy sheriff without a warrant pursuant to § 23-13-60 the person so arrested shall be forthwith carried before a magistrate and a warrant of arrest procured and disposed of as the magistrate shall direct.
