(a) If a person violates a maximum prima facie speed limit imposed under § 545.362, as that law existed immediately before December 8, 1995, and the person was not traveling at a speed, as alleged in the citation, if not contested by the person, or, if contested by the person, as alleged in the complaint and found by the court, that is greater than the maximum prima facie speed limit for the location that has been established under this chapter, other than under § 545.362, information in the custody of the department concerning the violation is confidential.
(b) The department may not release the information to any person or to another state governmental entity.
