Terms Used In Louisiana Code of Civil Procedure 85
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
An action against a domestic corporation, the charter and franchise of which have been administratively revoked by the secretary of state in accordance with La. Rev. Stat. 12:163, may be brought in any parish where the suit could have been brought prior to revocation.
