Hawaii Revised Statutes 124B-233 – Articles to be explained

(a) The procedures and provisions of this chapter shall be explained at least once every three years to each unit of the state military forces.

Terms Used In Hawaii Revised Statutes 124B-233

Adjutant general: means the adjutant general of the State as defined in section 121-7. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 124B-1
Enlisted member: means a person in an enlisted grade. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 124B-1
Governor: means the governor of the State. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 124B-1
Military: refers to any or all of the armed forces. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 124B-1
State military forces: means the National Guard of the State, as defined in title 32 United States Code § 101(3), the organized naval militia of the State, and any other military force organized under the laws of the State. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 124B-1

(b) The procedures and provisions of this chapter shall be carefully explained to every enlisted member at the time of the member’s enlistment or transfer or induction into, or at the time of the member’s order to duty in or with any of the state military forces or within ninety days thereafter.

(c) In accordance with rules adopted by the governor or adjutant general, officers with the authority to convene courts-martial or to impose nonjudicial punishment shall receive periodic training regarding the purposes and administration of this chapter.

(d) A complete text of this chapter and of the rules adopted by the governor or adjutant general thereunder shall be made available in either hard copy or in an electronic format to any member of the state military forces by the member’s commander, upon the member’s request, for the member’s personal examination.
