(a) The commission shall certify to the supreme court the name of each qualified applicant for certification under § 154.101 who has passed the examination.
(b) The commission shall certify to the supreme court the name of each applicant who meets the qualifications for certification as:
(1) an apprentice court reporter; or
(2) a provisional court reporter.

- Court reporter: A person who makes a word-for-word record of what is said in court and produces a transcript of the proceedings upon request.
- Reporter: Makes a record of court proceedings and prepares a transcript, and also publishes the court's opinions or decisions (in the courts of appeals).
