- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
The department may license an entity chartered by the federal Farm Credit Administration under the farm credit system established under 12 U.S.C. § 2001 et seq., as amended, to solicit insurance in this state as provided by 12 U.S.C. § 2218, as amended. The department shall issue the license in the manner provided by this subchapter for the licensing of a corporation.
